“Drawing Helps Me Discover, Reflect On, And Express Myself” Says 11 year old Bookosmian from Sharjah
Hey everyone, your friend Sara here! Welcome to my vibrant ‘Art with Sara’ section for kids.
Here I publish the works of young artists who share their beautiful work and their passion for artwork in form of a write-up!
Prepare to be blown over by the art work of 11 year old Ema Anand from Sharjah. And do check out her thoughts about her art too! Do you also paint? I am waiting to see your paintings and thoughts!

Drawing has had a profound impact on my life. Without drawing, I don’t know who I would be, where I would be, or how I would deal with everything that happens in life. Drawing is the most powerful tool I have.
Drawing helps me discover, reflect on, and express myself. It helps me feel happier and more confident and has given me an extra sense of identity and purpose in life. It keeps me honest with myself.
Almost every time I sit down to draw in my sketchbook, what comes out is a direct reflection of how I’m feeling at that moment. My sketchbook becomes a visual diary that can illuminate feelings I didn’t realize I had. I turn off my thinking brain, move my pen across the paper and would start drawing.
Not only does drawing help me become motivated and inspire me, it also helps me clear my head by reflecting on and clarifying those thoughts and feelings.
When I begin a drawing feeling agitated, grumpy, and stressed out, I almost always finish a drawing feeling more relaxed, content, and at peace. I draw my stress and worries.
Many people have trouble choosing what subject they want to draw on.
The subject should be one you are interested in – genuinely interested and engaged in.
Give new ideas a little time and thought before deciding to make them the subject of a work of art.
There are many art mediums you can choose from. They include:
– Watercolor
– Acrylic paintings
– Oil paintings
– Sketches
– Coloring
– Markers
Painting/Drawing is not a theory. It is not a media where you take notes and do it within a limited time. Art is something that you have to practice. It is where you have to be patient enough to finish it. It may take days, weeks, month or even years in certain paintings.
One image attempting to capture the essence of the written story sharing its page is called a painting/drawing in my point of view.
For example, the painting which I drew, the man drinking tea from the saucer, tells a short story.
Can you figure it out?
Another great example is the painting of “The last supper” drawn by Leonardo DaVinci.
The painting represents the scene of the Last Supper of Jesus with his apostles. Leonardo has depicted the consternation that occurred among the Twelve Apostles when Jesus announced that one of them would betray him.
That is all I have for now readers. Have a wonderful day ahead!
