‘A City Never Sleeps’ Poem by 13 year old Bookosmian from Kolkata
From the crack of dawn,
Till the dead of night.
A city never sleeps.
Parents going to work,
Children going to school.
Because a city never sleeps.
As the day progresses,
People do different things.
But a city never sleeps.
Everyone is busy and does something,
Miners mine, teachers teach, sweepers sweep.
Because a city never sleeps.
Meeting friends, having fun.
Going to parties and getting things done.
Because a city never sleeps.
Speedy cars going hither thither ,
With street lights on the whole night .
Because a city never sleeps.
From the crack of dawn,
Till the dead of night.
A city never sleeps
