Being A Teacher- Why It Is More Than Just A Job ? | Bookosmia
We will always be indebted to our teachers. Teaching is the most powerful profession in the whole world. Teachers’ work has a long-term impact on not just the lives of the children they teach but on society as a whole. They have the power to shape generations, impact minds and make the world a better place.
Teachers are the mentors and guides for the younger minds. Teachers are inspiring role models for the students and they are indeed making a lot of efforts which we students can never pay back.
Teachers are just like angels, who guide the children on the right path of life and mould out their personality and talent.
The art of teaching is about awakening the natural curiosity of young minds. Teachers help students overcome fear and guilt. They can uplift the depressed and weak.
September 5, which we celebrate as Teachers’ Day is also the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna recipient Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. This day has been observed as teachers’ day since 1962. He was the first vice president and second president of India-post independence and also worked as a professor. It was his wish that, instead of celebrating his birthday, 5th September should be observed as teacher’s day.
“True teachers are those who help us think for ourselves.” -Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
“If a country is to be corruption free and become a nation of beautiful minds, I strongly feel there are three key societal members who can make a difference. They are the father, the mother and the teacher.” – Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
This shows that even our parents are our mentors just like teachers. They guide us the path of life and help us through it.
I pay respect, bow down and salute to all my teachers. The school may have found a teacher in you, but I have found a hero in you. Thank you so much to all the teachers and mentors who have taught me a lot in my life.
“Teaching is the profession that teaches all the other professions.”
