Pearls - No jewellery is worth wounded oysters

A pearl is beautiful,

produced by a wounded life,

It is the tear of a hurt oyster

in whose life worries are rife.

No one knows its journey,

no one knows its struggle,

It doesn’t know what torture lies ahead

when it’s inside its shell, safe and snuggled.

Inside the oyster

glows a drop of moonlight,

Polished by the stars when

it fell through the night.

It stays carefree

not knowing the dangers of the world,

Its destiny can be fatal or wonderful,

it’s unconfirmed.

Its sacrifice will benefit the selfish mankind,

But it’s helpless since its fate with its body,

the oyster is entwined.

Humans are never satisfied,

that even if you give them one thing,

they want something more,

They think for themselves,

are selfish, self-centered,

and rotten to the core.

They kill such a helpless creature for their own need

The oyster crying and begging for help,

they pay no heed

They rip it apart

and take its life without a second thought

No idea of the pain to the oyster

that they have awfully brought.

The humans in the hope to find a pearl,

ended the life of that poor oyster right there

And the oyster…

What can it do?

It just sits there and cries in despair

And when it’s killed, pearl in it or not

It is left there in loneliness and left there to rot.

Its purpose of life and happiness finished

Its delectation and blithesomeness diminished

A pearl is beautiful,

produced by a wounded life,

It is the tear of a hurt oyster

in whose life worries are rife.
